Aardweg Landscaping of Newtown Square designed this formal landscape for the front entrance and courtyard of this beautiful Mediterranean styled home. The traditional formal garden is characterized by symmetry, line, ornamentation, boxwoods, and lines of parterre outlining the walks and courtyard – all characteristics of this exquisite formal landscaped garden design.
With expert knowledge in the selection and use of horticultural materials, Steve Aardweg, APLD of Aardweg Landscaping has created a beautiful design featuring cobble stone walks and courtyard, traditional gravel path, evergreens, annuals, and perennials in this engaging formal landscaping design. He has selected groups of smaller shrubs for lines of parterre along the walks; and magnolias for the large framing, with cherry laurels, and euonymus to create massings.
Annuals are placed symmetrically along the entrance, with a touch of perennials on both sides of the courtyard. A traditional gravel path lined with cobble stone, moves away from the courtyard, with hydrangeas on either side.
